Want to Change the World
Do you want to change the world? Do you want to make a difference? Do you pray for peace in the world; in your town; in your family; in your home? It's not bad to pray for these things, but we have to start with ourselves first. How are we to expect the world to change if we haven't changed ourselves? First, I ask you where are your priorities? Is God #1? Why or why not? You may say, My family is first. I have to take care of my family first. Then you may say, My job comes first, so I can feed and take care of my family. Let me explain why God should come first. If you don't have God, you have no foundation. God is like a prism; you put Him first and He will flood into every area of your life. When God is first, he wants you to put your spouse, then your children, then your job.... That doesn't mean you don't change the baby's diaper until you finish dinner for your husband. That doesn't mean you skip work to spend time with the family. It means that you do what God wants you to do. He wants you to take care of the family. He wants you to work hard. But He wants you to take care of things His way. His way is the only way that works. If you put your children before your spouse soon you would find yourself divorced and unhappy with unhappy kids. Kids need attention and being taken care of but so does your spouse. When you take care of your spouse before the kids; the children see that you love eachother and how a loving relationship works. They will learn patients and become unselffish. They will see how to treat their spouse in the future. We seek what God wants us to do, not what we want or what others want. He will always provide when we listen and obey. And to obey we have to listen. I use to think that I had to have complete control of my life. But now that I have God first, I feel more in control of my life than I ever did before I gave him that control. Believe in your heart and speak it with your mouth and you shall be saved. John 3:16-18 Ask God to be number #1 in your life and you will recieve. Not only should we pray for others, but we should first pray for God to change us. He began a good work in me and he won't stop until He is done. Pray for Him to make you into the person in created you to be. He gets the glory, not me and not you. God will show others the way He has changed you and they will want to be changed too. The person I think of when I think of this is, Pollyanna. Yes, Pollyanna. She was contagious. She was on fire. She didn't let people around her influence her. She always tried to look things positively. She was the start of the whole town smiling and laughing. Be contagious. As Gandhi said, "you must be the change you wish to see in the world. Are you thinking that you are only one person; that you aren't that type of person; what if you fail? One thing you only things you need to know is that God does the changing, and God always wins. If you and God are on one side and the rest of the world is on the other; who wins? Simple answer: You and God! So next time you find yourself praying and asking for someone else to change. Ask God to help you change and become the example He wants you to be. The Change Begins At Home In You.
